Luke's Baptism

We thought hard about if we should wait to get Luke baptised in Billings with family and our new church or if we should get him baptised quickly before we left Missoula. The second option would mean doing it with our dear church family from All Souls Missoula, but would also mean that our actual family would not be present.


This church has been by far the biggest blessing to us while living in Missoula. We felt at home there and quickly became friends with so many of the members. It helped our marriage and relationship with God grow abundantly. It is where we started our family and raised Elijah for the first 2 years of his life. It is where I became dear friends with a few other moms in a bible study group who encouraged me as a wife and mother and blessed me in so many countless ways. After thinking about it and talking to family, we decided to get Lukey baptised in Missoula with the church who had supported us for the past 3 years. It was special to do it on our last Sunday with them. Also, it meant that Ryan Sutherland, one of the pastors, got to baptise both of our boys. It was simple and it was perfect. Because family could not be present, we had a friend take some photos to try to capture it. In hindsight, I wish I would have had it video taped, but that's ok. Elijah was very interested in what was going on and even wanted the water that Luke was baptised with. I couldn't help but tear up as we blessed and prayed over sweet little Luke and as Ryan baptised him in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We love that we can raise our sons in the church and pray that they grow up to be Godly men.

Elijah wasn't happy and decided to stick his finger in his nose at the last minute.

We just look funny. 

But I know this picture will be something we cherish for a long time.
