What a great long weekend get-away. The hubs and I were so thankful to the grandparents for keeping and lovin' on our little man so we could sneak away just the two of us for a much needed vacation. It was a trip for us to spend time together and to celebrate how far we've come these past few years-- most importantly Colin's upcoming graduation from Law School! Also, we know Summer is coming fast and with Summer comes all the crazy busy life changing events. Another baby, the BAR exam, and moving to name a few :-) We were blessed with a few days just the two of us to try to relax, treat ourselves to yummy meals, and reconnect before the busy season that is coming up so quickly. We spent most the days strolling around the streets of downtown Seattle hand in hand. We enjoyed some shopping, included with lots of browsing and dreaming along the way. We loved the Pikes Place Market and took so many pictures of the gorgeous produce and flowers. We walked along the water front and of course ate lots of good food. We also tried to sneak in a nap most days. (Did I mention that simply "strolling the streets" included multiple miles walked each day?? That's a lot for this prego lady-- and you could tell by the aching and swelling feet each night!!) What a treat it was. We're already talking about "the next time.." and also dreamed about all the things we'd do when we take the boys with us some time. We're so blessed for this special break we got together. Elijah was not only very well taken care of (we missed him but never worried about him for one second), he was surely spoiled and apparently put on the charm and good behavior for both Oma/Opa and Grandma/Papa! Lucky them! ;-) We loved our time away but could not wait to get back to kiss and snuggle our little man whom we missed very much!
Here are a few of the MANY photos I snapped while away. We were blessed with sunshine everyday except one-- which is definitely amazing since Seattle usually rains every day! :)
We LOVED the Sounders Soccer game with good friends Duncan and Steph!
I think Colin was in heaven :-)
Friends since they were 5... like brothers...
still best friends...
and eachother's Best Men in their weddings.
Yummy Pickles we found at the market.
And we definitely finished a jar while we were there :-)
Cheesecake Factory-- Best cheesecake EVER!
Yummy dessert date late one night.
Awesome beautiful produce at the market!
Getting ready for our dinner date at the top of the Space Needle
25 weeks and feelin' every bit of big and prego here :-)
So thankful for this special trip with my best friend by my side.
We are more in love than ever and excited for what's to come.
Praying we can have the opportunity to take trips like this every couple years to reconnect and enjoy our marriage and reflect on what God's given us.
We love being Mama and Dada but its also very good to remember and love being just Mr & Mrs :)
