Easter 2012

We love making memories with our sweet little family. This Easter we enjoyed teaching Elijah how to dye easter eggs, loved watching him dig into his easter basket with excitement, and delighted as we watched him find the easter eggs during his first easter egg hunt. What fun! :-) We rejoice in the real reason for this time of year- the Christ was crucified for us- but is arose from the grave and is ALIVE. He is risen! We love our church family and enjoyed Good Friday and Easter services yet again this year.

Saturday we tried out the egg dyeing.

First, Elijah was playing with his easter basket goodies from Oma & Opa.

Although, for now, every color is "bbblue"

He got the hang of dropping the eggs in the dye pretty quickly.

Easter Sunday consisted of a wonderful church service, hanging out with good friends, yummy dinner, crazy temper tantrum/meltdown by a certain blond-haired little boy, attempting to take cute family photos which failed due to said kid meltdown, kids watching Elmo while the adults enjoyed visiting, and coming home exhausted and in bed by 8:00. Wowsa! It was a wonderful weekend that went way to quickly. We are truly blessed!!

After dinner we "hid" eggs around the house for the kiddos to find!

The caught the hang of it quickly.

But, Elijah was more interested in eating the cookies INSIDE the eggs!

Showing mama his eggs! He learned a new word- egg. It sounds more like "Aaa" with just the "a" sound. It takes a while for us to figure out that that is what he's trying to say!
