Now, in all honesty, you were probably still to young to truly enjoy it, but we took you anyways! Mama and Dada enjoyed walking around and taking in the atmosphere. It was SO crowded and at times stressful with you in the stroller and trying to get around without running over anyone or anything! You liked looking around and there were lots of bright colors and loud sounds.
But, your very favorite part of the fair was the petting zoo. You almost didn't want to leave it. I knew you'd love the animals and couldn't wait for you to see them. I'm pretty sure you thought the sweet goat that let you pet him forever was actually a dog. You kept saying "dag dag" which is your word for dog. You loved petting him and he sat their patiently letting you have your way. We taught you to "moo" at the noisy (annoying) cows. You also got to climb on a tractor. We tried to teach you about the tractor and how your grandpas and great grandpas would love to take you for a ride someday. Mama tried relentlessly to get you to try cotton candy. Who can go to a fair and NOT get a treat like cotton candy!? And guess what... you weren't havin' it! You spit it right back out at me. I'm pretty sure it was because of the texture... because at one point I did get you to keep a tiny piece in until it melted and you said "umm" which is what you say when you like what you're eating. I cannot believe you wouldn't take more though... how un-American! ;-) Daddy was happy you didn't like it... maybe you escaped getting Mama's sweet tooth! haha!
At the very end, even though you were having a melt down in line, we took you on your one and only ride: the Ferris Wheel. Once on it, you settled down on daddy's lap and took in the sights. For a while I thought you might even fall asleep but you just sat there content and sucked your thumb.
What a fun family night. I cherish times like these that we get to spend together. :)
Here's a little photo montage from our night out....
First Stop: The petting zoo.
This is your favorite goat. We named him Earl. :)
You loved petting him. He was so calm and just sat there.
Pretty sure you thought he was just a dog though...
"dag dag"
Below is my favorite photo:
you=excited.
Earl=less than thrilled.
:)
Teaching you to "MOOO"
You loved the BIG tires! :-)
Waiting in line for snacks!
You really didn't want your photo taken...
which is JUST how you are lately...
Daddy says you're becoming "allergic to photos"
Well, son, you better get used to it. :-)
Up next... your Cotton Candy Adventure...
here is mama trying to feed us both....
Take Two: you just look away. You don't want anything to do with it.
Who's child ARE you!? ;-)
Seriously son, you've got to be kidding me....
who doesn't like cotton candy!?
Especially a baby who eats healthy home cooked food all day long???
Odd.
Have I told you lately how handsome you are? :)
Yep... still adorable. :)
Our view from the Ferris Wheel. Beautiful Missoula Evening.
So, my camera died right when we got on the ferris wheel. (boo!)
But my phone camera tried to save the day...
but the sun kept ruining the pics.
Here's the best one of the three of us. <3
What a sweet night full of special memories.
Hope you had fun little man.
You were so exhausted by the end and ready to get out of the sun.
You passed out as soon as we got home and put you in bed...
Love you sweet boy, xoxo
until next time....
Mama.
