Gabbling With The Gersts: 21 Months

Hey E man, You're finally 21!! Months, that is. :-)

Another month has come and flown by. You're as silly and lovable as ever. You sure do keep us on our toes. You love exploring. Your giggle is the cutest thing ever. You're still trying to cut your canines, but not have popped yet. You're busy and energetic. You're getting really good at walking to "mama car" when we go places. You know the routine and go get your shoes and reach for your sunglasses. You love being as independent as possible, yet still need so much help. You still don't say much, but get your point across with signs or weird fluctuations in your voice which only mama and dada truly understand what you're asking for. You love Cars more than anything and will run up to each and every one of them proclaiming "cah cah" while on walks and yell out at each car as we drive in the car. You are itching for spring and more time outside (just like the rest of us, especially Mama!). You love your dogs and each night you get to pick one to sleep with. It's the cutest thing in the world to see you cuddle the dog as you lay down for sleep. You never cease to make us smile. We wish you'd stop growing so fast, yet love all the new stages and learning! You're getting really good at picking out objects in books. Even though you can't say the words, you understand SO much and can point to a ton of things when asked. You can pick out Mama, Dada, and Elijah in pictures. You like video- chatting with family and run to the computer when we ask if you want to visit with Oma and Opa or Grandma and Baba (papa). You have found a new desire of throwing anything and everything. It can be cute and good for baseball. But, it also means you throw anything near you while throwing a tantrum... this is not so good. We're desperately trying to teach you about sharing and being gentle, in hopes to prepare you for baby luke. You love kissing mama's belly and mama tries to capture as many pictures of this as possible. You have no clue how much your world is about to change when a little brother enters it. Mama and Dada are cherishing every alone moment we can with you before the arrival of Little Luke. You give the best kisses and love hugging (which sometimes is more like tackling). When we ask if you want to watch a movie, you beg for "Cars" every time. We're already planning your Cars themed 2nd birthday-- wait how did that happen so fast!? We can't get enough of you and your spunky fun-spirit. We love you more than words can express and wish we could stop time for a bit. But, alas, you're another month older. And we're loving every minute with you and thank God for you every night.

Missoula got another day of Sunshine today-- they don't come very often and when they do we get SO excited. It was all I could do to keep you from escaping outside after dinner since the door was open and the sunshine was coming in. We enjoyed a walk and Mama snapped a few pictures. You're such a stud with your new shades and new Keen sandals-- cutest things EVER-- that we busted out today for the first time. Not sure who was more excited about them, Mama or you. :) You laughed, ran away from mama and the camera, went up to every car, randomly would check out the trees, enjoyed a popsicle and even blessed mama with a couple photos of kissing baby Luke that I was actually able to capture!

You are such a stud.
