This Christmas we are have so much to be thankful for. We were excited to decorate our house and get in the Holiday spirit this weekend. We didn't make it to visiting Santa yet, but hoping to soon! We're not even sure what Elijah will think of us plopping him on some scary looking man's lap and insisting he smile for a photo. haha! We'll see!
As for decorating, We don't have much, but it's still fun to hang the stockings and put up our little tree with the ornaments, and of course snap some picture of Eli with his tree- which he's officially taller than now. Much to our disappointment, we realized that our ornaments were in Billings with our storage so we only had 2 ornaments- the ones we bought for 2011. At first, we were so sad, but we were thankful to have our tree and stockings. After thinking about it, we knew it was still perfect, two ornaments and all. We Love it.. take a look!

We love our TINY tree. Literally, I was complaining last year that we have no where to put a tree in our little apartment... we almost didn't get to have one...so we bought a little 2 foot tree and put it up on our table. I still get a little sad when I think about not having a big one with all of our ornaments, but I love it. I think it has character and we'll totally look back and always cherish these exciting years in our tiny apartment filled with TONS of stuff, not enough space, but definitely lots of LOVE ... and thats what counts. It's perfect for us right now and I know we'll look back and smile. :-)
Now, let the Christmas Music begin!! We've already started listening to it. We'll start a new tradition of reading a bible verse each night at dinner to follow along and celebrate Jesus this Advent Season. We'll read Eli's book- "God Gave Us Christmas" to teach him the real meaning of this season. We'll definitely be baking some yummy Christmas treats, and watching Christmas movies whenever we can! Hot cocoa and hot cider are also a must! It will be a quiet little Christmas here in Missoula this year. Our first Christmas without family, which I must admit will be REALLY weird and maybe a tad bit sad. But, we're looking forward to starting our own traditions and going to our church's midnight Christmas Eve Service. So many things to look forward to and blessing to reflect on this holiday.
