17 Months

Ok, So I'm a few days late.. but on Thanksgiving you turned 17 months. Wowsa. I'll say it again, where does the time go?? You are so cute and continue to make us smile each day. You're getting so smart and you're really figuring out the world around you. You try to build with the blocks, but mostly like taking them apart after daddy does the hard work. You like your cars. You say a few words (or what we make out as your own words): hot, hi, dog, all done and you kind of say car. You also say "boom" when you fall down- since Mama and Dada always say Ka-boom when you topple over, which is MANY times a day! You sign "please, more, milk, eat" and you're working on raising your hand for "up" so you don't whine when you want held. :) You LOVE to dance. You currently dance every night in the kitchen to our new church CD while daddy does dishes and mama picks up the house. It's so stinkin' cute. You are obsessed with bringing us books one after the other and you love to sit on our laps and read. You know what sounds a cow and sheep makes, even though your "baa" sounds quite possessed right now. You can point to your belly, head, and ears now when we ask you where they are. You watch too many sports with daddy and even clap when you see that football is on. You love going on hikes and walks with Dada, he is your very best buddy. You adore your daddy and it makes your mama so happy to see the bond you already have. You discovered snow this winter and so far you love it, even though you refuse to keep gloves on so your poor hands freeze. You even went sledding and weren't too sure what to think, but ended up enjoying it. You giggle and talk to yourself constantly. You can still be quite sensitive and definitely have some attitude. You're definitely figuring out what No means and quickly learning that you don't like time out so you better listen and obey your mama and daddy.  You have 11 teeth, this past month you popped a molar and one other on bottom. And you currently are cutting one more bottom tooth as we speak... so soon will have 12. You bit your mama for the first time- you literally walked over and chomped down on my arm for no apparent reason, other than possibly your teeth hurt from teething. You quickly learned that biting people is not gonna fly around here. You love bath times still and will play in there forever if we let you, often laying on your belly and kicking your feet. You surprisingly like having your teeth brushed and prefer to do it yourself (once the real work is done by mama or daddy). You are fascinated with the fridge and everything in it. You'll go to the fridge multiple times a day and beg for us to open it so you can inspect everything or try to take the milk jugs out. Rex, your big dog, is becoming your favorite stuffed animal. He's huge and you still carry him around the house proclaiming "dog, dog" everywhere you go. Rex "sleeps" underneath your bed at night to keep you safe. We put him in his sleeping spot when you go "night night" and its so cute! :) You still love your blankie and suck your thumb a LOT. You liked thanksgiving and have decided that turkey and stuffing may quite possibly be your new favorite food. You learned you're going to be a big brother this month. Even though you don't quite understand how much this will change your life... we still think you're going to be a great big brother and we're already trying to teach you about the baby that is soon to come!

Sweet E, you are seriously so cute. (We can't say that enough) You make us laugh and bring us such great joy. You keep us on our toes and you exhaust your already VERY tired mama (blame this on the bean she's currently cookin' in her belly). You have so much spunk and life in you and we love watching you change each month. Next month you'll be 18 months... which is a big milestone! We get to have a 1 and 1/2 year old for Christmas Eve. We have so many exciting things happening with the holidays coming up and can't wait for you to experience them all. Thanks for being such a love bug, we love you to pieces.

Love,
Mama.
