15 months

Oh Mr E~

I can't believe you're 15 months old today. Seems like just yesterday I was writing your letter for your 1st birthday! You continue to amaze us in so many ways and we continue to fall more and more in love with you. Your goofy grin is adorable and your laugh is contagious. Your hair is getting longer and longer, and actually losing some of its curl because of the length-- Mama is planning your first haircut soon--even if she doesn't want to it's probably time.

You are such a skinny thing. We're pretty sure you've gotten taller, but you're losing your belly and your waist is so tiny. You currently wear 12 month clothing still and the jeans are baggy around your waist. You're still in size 3 diapers. You weigh around 22 pounds. We bought all new fall/winter clothes in 18 month size so we're hoping you make the switch soon. You have 8 teeth- 4 of which are still working their way down but definitely visible and you smile is VERY CUTE!

You STILL aren't walking, although we know you can, it's just a matter of you really wanting to. You just love to crawl everywhere now and you love exploring anything and everything. You push your train and fire truck around the house and outside. You cruise like a pro around the room using furniture and walls to help you. You take steps to us when we play with you and make you practice. You're up to 7 or 8 steps on your own. I'm pretty sure it's just part of your stubborn personality and you'll decide when you want to walk. You have your own language which we love, but we're working on basic words to get you to talk!

Your jabbering is so cute and the fluctuation in your voice is hilarious. You have full conversations with us and we don't even know what your saying. However, we have managed to teach you two signs which helps immensely when we're trying to get you to communicate what you want instead of whining.  You can now sign "more" which we were so excited about! You do it for everything around meal time and will continue signing it until we feed you another spoonful or give you another drink. You also are just starting to learn "please". We try to get you to use it when you want to be held, want to get down, or want something so, once again, you aren't just whining. We're working really hard on "milk" and "all done". Someday you'll be saying words, I just know it. You have a new fascination of drinking out of Mama's water bottles. Whenever I have one out you keep signing "more" until I give you more drinks of water. You can picky with what you eat, but we still encourage everything. Somedays it feels like we can't get you to eat much of anything, and others all you want is more food.

You LOVE dogs. You favorite place to go to at the mall is the pet store so you can visit the puppies. Whenever we're around friends with dogs, big or small, you are crawling around and playing with/on them. We can't wait to get you one someday.

You still take 2 naps a day but it might not be too long before we stretch it to 1. Some days you tend to do more playing, jumping, and jabbering in your crib than you do sleeping-- but others you still sleep for hours for each nap. You are still a fabulous sleeper at night- always sleeping 12 hours a night. Mama loves getting to sleep till 8 each morning, thank you! You can be such a love bug, when you want to. You love your blankie, you've actually become pretty attached to it. You'll go to your crib and try to pull it out or whine until we come get it out for you. You're allowed to have it while we're at home and when you go to Libby's house on thursdays and fridays. We are staying strong and not letting you take it other places or out in public. Before bed you give the best cuddles. You also give the best, most sweet, kisses that Mama can't get enough of. When we say "I love you" you have started to give us kisses back sometimes. It melts our hearts every time. You are also SUCH a charmer when we go places. The ladies sure do love you... and those beautiful lavender eyes and sparkly eyelashes you bat at them.

Elijah, we just love you to pieces. You never fail to make us laugh. You are such an adorable little man with such a spunky feisty attitude and we can't get enough of you. We're so thankful for you, sweet E. We can't wait to see what the next few months bring.... <3
