All Is Well

Reflecting again tonight....

When singing to Elijah before bed time, we often listen to and sing our favorite church music. This song came up and I can almost never listen to the entire song without tearing up. How perfect the lyrics are for any situation. God is in control, and all will be well, according to His will. During bible study today with friends, we were talking about this very thing. I desire control in life. (My desire to plan, schedule, control everything derived by my completely type A personality has always been an issue). It's one of my idols. But things happen and God doesn't always answer prayers like we want. We do not have control in this life, but HIS divine Will is what will be done no matter what.

And in the end- "through the Spirit's guiding. All must be Well"

I wanted to share it here with everyone- I could not figure out how to import a song directly on the blog- so the lyrics are the next best thing!

All Is Well- by Trudy Poirier

Through the love of God our Savior, All will be Well
Free and changeless is his favor, All will be well
Precious is the blood that healed us, Perfect is the grace that sealed us
Strong the hand stretched out to shield us, Oh- All must be well. All, All is well.

Though we past through tribulations, All will be well
Ours is such a great salvation, All, all will be well
Happy still in God confiding, Fruitfull if in Christ abiding.
Only through the Spirit's guiding, Oh- All must be well. All, All is well.

In all things, our God is working. All will be well.
For the good of those who love Him, All, all is well.
Nothing here can separate us, from the Love he freely gave us.
For His purpose we are called, Oh- All must be well. All, all is well.

We expect a bright tomorrow, All will be well.
Faith can sing through days of sorrow, All, all is well.
On our Father's love relying, Jesus every needs suppling.
For in living or in dying, Oh- All must be well. All, all is well.

  3. Thanks for sharing this, Jackie. I sang this song to myself during the year of my dad's illness and the year after following his death. You said it perfectly: God is in control, and all will be well, according to His will.
