We had a great trip to West Yellowstone this past weekend with the Gerstner Fam. Daddy, Papa, Auntie Liz and Uncle Bo all ran the Yellowstone Half Marathon- and they did Great!! We loved cheering them on as they finished! We got to stay in an awesome cabin just outside West Yellowstone. It was a little stressful at times with all the boys and their lack of napping but we had a really fun time. Eli was really excited to go into Yellowstone National Park and couldn't wait to see all the animals we talked about. After going, I think it may have been a little different than he was expecting. It consisted of a lot of driving, even an hour long stand still traffic wait, and we only saw two different animals. There were times we could see Bison far away, but he would say "it's too far away Mama" which was a little sad. But- we did get close enough for him to see some Bison and Elk and he loved them! :-) The boys did pretty well for being in the car that long. When we were driving (but not in the park!) we let them watch movies. Built in DVD player= Best Invention Ever for road trips!! We also visited the Grizzly Bear and Wolf Discovery center in West Yellowstone, which Eli liked! It was like a zoo with the grizzly bears and wolfs pretty close and even a fun play ground to play at! On Saturday night we celebrated Liz's birthday as well as Dada/Papa Day! Yummy meal and good time with family!

See the geyser behind Ike? lol!
We were staying warm in the lodge, but stepped out on the deck to watch it really quick and snapped a pic of his first time there :)
This was pretty much what our trip through the park looked like.
These silly boys trying to stay happy during the long wait!
Happy Dada Day to the BEST Daddy EVER!!!
Glad we stopped for this picture! Ike was sleeping so I didn't want to take him out of his car seat. But at least we captured our first family trip to Yellowstone National Park.
We definitely have to go back when the boys are older!
