Just In Case You Ever Wonder....

Grandma and Grandpa Gerstner got Elijah this book for his baptism. "Just in case you ever wonder" The words could not be more poignant or perfect. We read this book as a family tonight.. tears in all of our eyes... and wanted to share some of it with you.We understand the words in the book more clearly now...

"Long, long ago God made a decision-- He made the decision to make you....He made you in a special way. God made you like no one else.... And since you are so special, God wanted to put you in just the right home. God sent you to me. And I'm so glad He did....I'll always love you. I'll always hug you. I'll always be on your side....And God wants me to make sure you know about heaven. It's a wonderful place. There are no tears there.... It's going to be wonderful. We will be there together, forever. Remember that... Just in case you ever wonder."

As we learn more about Elijah and about his albinism... we are only falling more in love with our sweet little boy. We absolutely adore our platinum blonde hair/red-eyed beautiful baby boy. Even through the fears, we know that God has placed him into our lives for a reason and we have never felt more blessed.

Please visit this website-  parentofachildwithalbinism.com.
We found this site tonight- and even through only briefly looking at the history and story of a mother of a child with albinism- we felt comforted. Watch the video: "Perception is not reality" It tug at our hearts. The pictures of the little kids made us cry- because our little blondie looked exactly like many of them!
Overall, We felt like she was saying EXACTLY what we are feeling. Right when we are feeling alone and scared... we are finding comfort through the words of a stranger....
