I'm a few days late on this but wanted to make sure I shared what's been going on this month. You're one month closer to a 1 year old. I've already starting thinking about you and your brother's birthday party. Also, you're 1 year pictures are schedule and on the calendar. Man, oh man! Watch out!
You love your Scout Dog!
You were pretty much over pictures at this point and wanted to just get down and play!
You are just a delightful little boy with one very contagious smile. You are simply irresistible! We can't go anywhere without people commenting on your cute charming self. You smile so much, its one of my favorite things of yours. Your whole face smiles... even your beautiful big blue eyes! You're very observant and watch everything.
You're on the move ALL the time. Literally either speed crawling, rolling, standing, or trying to walk. Because of this new found mobility, you now despise getting your diaper changed or getting dressed. How dare we make you lay still for 2 minutes! You're a busy busy boy and try endlessly to keep up with your big brother. You made it up an entire flight of stairs (about 30 steps) in our house in less than two minutes crawling after E. You try to take steps and "cruise" along the couch. And you just discovered that with our help (so they don't go too fast)- you love to push your walking toys all around. Your face beams with pride and excitement! Before we know it you'll be doing it on your own!
You're also into everything and thus, you're quickly learning the meaning of the word "no". You get a pretty sad face when we say it to you. You try to push the boundaries but you're slowly catching on! :)
You're getting the hang of your sippy cup more and more. Hoping we'll drop the bottles by your birthday if you keep it up! You want to eat anything and everything. You love being able to eat what we eat. You still eat baby food to make sure you're getting enough... but you want the real stuff! Some things you love are chicken nuggets, grilled cheese, cooked veggies, toast, scrambled eggs, blackberries, and granola bars. One major thing...you're giving up this whole nursing thing. I was REALLY wanting to make it to one year with you. Just don't think we will. You're just not interested and it's becoming more of a hassle at this point. I'm thinking we've got a few weeks left till you're weaned. Which, other than our nice morning session that I still enjoy, there won't be much more. I feel ok with it though and totally at peace with it. It's time. You're just a big boy now, I guess!
You love when your brother gives you Cheerios!!
THE WHOLE BOX! ha!
Thankfully... you finally started saying "mmmmma" and occasionally I'll hear a "mmma mmmma" Thank you baby boy, thank you for saying MAMA. Your big brother tortured me for 18 months before he'd say it. ;-)
We love you Baby Luke. And we're going to have to drop the "baby" pretty soon. You'll always be "baby luke" since that's what you've been called since you were in my belly! :) Thank you for being such a joy.
Some stats about you:
Size 4 diapers. Size 9-12 or 12 month clothes. Size 3 shoes. Take 2 naps: 1 short morning and 1 long afternoon. Really LONG hair behind your ears. STILL no teeth. Give big kisses. Still love your binky. Trying to take steps. Love your taggie blankie for sleep. Love bath time. Adore your big brother. Laugh at your daddy. Only Snuggle when tired. Jabber lots. Still trying to learn signs to talk. Mama's boy.
Love you to the moon and back.
~Mama.
