Gabbling With The Gersts: LT ~ 5 months!

My lil' bubba.

Already 5 months old. And this next month is going to be a FUN one-- your FIRST Christmas :-) I can hardly stand all of the excitement, cute outfits, and adorable pictures that about to come upon us this month. I might just take a million pictures. But, as for your last month-- you're continuing to grow and getting more of a personality. You are such a lovey boy. And your smiles and sweet little giggles just light up our lives. Heres a bit about you now:

Lukey fell over during our photo shoot-- and it looks like he's posing here with a hilarious face!

Love your squishyness and rosey round cheeks with bright blue eyes.

*According to our home scale you weigh exactly 18 pounds.
*You still fit into size 2 diapers-- but not for long-- we're just trying to finish the box we have!
*Wearing size 3-6 and 6 month clothing
*You love to chew on anything and your hands are always in your mouth. Maybe the start of teething? I think so.
*You drool all the time.
*You are still a very spitty boy.
*You love to eat. Other than breastmilk 5-6 times during the day, you eat solids 2 times a day.
*You had your first food- sweet potatoes. You have also tried apples, which you didn't like until we mixed them with your oatmeal cereal and breastmilk.
*I have sweet peas and avocados made and ready for your next foods. We're taking it pretty slow since you're just 5 months, but you love your food so much it's hard not to get excited!
*You have proven that you can indeed roll from tummy to back. But you've only done it a couple times and do not like being on your tummy.
*You are so close to rolling from back to tummy but can't do it on your own. You can get to your side on your own but can't get over without help.
*Your favorite teether/toy is your little sophie the giraffe.
*You are going through a rough stage falling asleep on your own. After a couple times of shushing you and giving you your paci, we resort to crying it out. You FIGHT it as long as you can. 29 minutes of non stop screaming. Soon little boy, you'll realize its easier to just give in and fall to sleep.
*Once you fall asleep, you sleep great till around 8 am-- sometimes even past 9.
*You love your swing.
*You fight the bumbo chair and arch your back and try to get out.
*Mama is hoping you'll be officially sitting by Christmas to get a cute pic of you under the tree like your brother's from his first christmas.
*You scoot around and we find you in various spots in your crib each morning. Still on your back, but definitely not where we put you down to sleep.
*You have the sweetest rosy round cheeks ever.
*Your currently sick with a nasty cold... hoping it leaves us soon. You are NOT a fan of getting your nose sucked out on a daily basis.
*Everyone comments how much you look like mama-- but really you just look like a Haan.
*Your brother adores you, has been paying more attention to you, trying to play with you, and likes checking up on you if you're "awake or nigh night"
*You boys love your bath times together--it's always a good time.
*You have the best rolls-- and when you stand you have no knees. Just rolls.
*You're having a tough time napping-- you used to nap for 2-4 hours in the afternoon in your crib. Now, we're lucky if we can get you take your entire nap IN the crib. You wake up after only 45 min- 1 hour. And, you love your swing too much and would rather sleep in there. silly boy.
*You arch your back like crazy and get really stiff. You often fight being sat and will arch your back when you don't want to sit. While laying on your back you'll arch your neck and back which looks so painful but is pretty funny to watch!
*Mama is slightly obsessed with you. You're such a sweet, smiley boy and I love taking pictures of you. For this month's photos you were pretty sick, but we STILL got some cute smirks :)
